Murad Ismael

Murad Ismael serves as the executive director and a board member of YAZDA, a nonprofit dedicated to aiding the Yazidi ethno-religious minority both in the United States and in their ancestral regions of northern Iraq and northeastern Syria. His passion stems from a strong commitment to assist survivors of genocide and to advocate for the protection of marginalized groups that have faced persecution due to their identity.

In his role at YAZDA, Murad has been instrumental in raising awareness about the challenges faced by the Yazidi community, particularly in the aftermath of the atrocities committed against them. His leadership has helped mobilize resources and support for those affected, providing vital assistance in their recovery and rehabilitation.

Murad Ismael holds advanced degrees in both Master of Science and Master of Civil Engineering from Norwich University and the University of Houston in Texas. His educational background complements his advocacy work, enabling him to engage effectively with various stakeholders and drive initiatives aimed at preserving the cultural identity and rights of the Yazidi people. Through his dedication, Murad continues to make significant strides in ensuring that the voices of genocide victims are heard and their stories acknowledged on a global scale.
