In 1991, as a way to commemorate Jane's Addiction's farewell tour, Farrell launched the Lollapalooza festival. What began as a single event has transformed into a widely recognized annual music festival. Farrell remains actively involved in organizing Lollapalooza alongside his partners at the William Morris Agency and C3 Presents.

In addition to his work with Jane's Addiction, Farrell has also fronted other notable alternative rock bands, including Porno for Pyros and Satellite Party.
