Michel'le Denise Toussaint, known simply as Michel'le, was born on December 5, 1970, and has made a significant mark in the American R&B scene from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. She gained fame with her hit song "No More Lies," which soared into the top ten of the US Hot 100 chart. Michel'le's career continued to flourish, leading her to be featured in the reality television series R&B Divas: Los Angeles from 2013 to 2015. Her life story was further immortalized in the 2016 biopic, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le.

At the age of 16, Michel'le began her music journey by providing vocals for the World Class Wreckin' Cru's track "Turn Off the Lights," released in 1987, which reached No. 54 on the Billboard charts. Shortly after, she began a tumultuous relationship with rapper Dr. Dre (Andre Romelle Young), which produced their son, Marcel, in February 1991. However, the relationship was marred by Dre's abusive behavior and infidelity, leading Michel'le to struggle with substance abuse before ultimately leaving him.

In a turn of events, Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight intervened and helped her seek rehabilitation. Michel'le married Suge while he was incarcerated in 1999, but their union was later revealed to be invalid, resulting in a divorce filing in 2005. Together, they have a daughter, Bailei, born in 2002, and Michel'le has continued to navigate the complexities of life and motherhood amidst her past challenges.
