Julie May Wilson was an iconic American singer and actress, often celebrated as the "queen of cabaret." Her remarkable career was highlighted by a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 1989 for her captivating performance in *Legs Diamond*.

Wilson made her Broadway debut in 1946 with the revue *Three to Make Ready*. In 1951, she ventured to London to star in the West End production of *Kiss Me, Kate*, where she spent four transformative years performing in productions such as *South Pacific* and *Bells Are Ringing*, all while honing her craft at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Upon her return to New York, she took over the role of Hester in *Kismet*, further solidifying her Broadway credentials. Her extensive Broadway repertoire also includes notable productions like *The Pajama Game*, *Jimmy*, *Park*, and *Legs Diamond*.

In addition to her stage work, in 1957, Wilson lent her vocal talents to Ray Anthony and his Orchestra for the soundtrack of the film *This Could Be The Night*, where she also acted as singer Ivy Corlane. That same year, she appeared alongside Ben Gazzara in *The Strange One*. Her television appearances include regular roles on the soap opera *The Secret Storm*, a Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation of *Kiss Me, Kate*, and various performances on *The Ed Sullivan Show*.
