He first gained widespread recognition for his role as Hector Lopez on the sitcom *Becker*, but it was his iconic portrayal of Hugo "Hurley" Reyes on the acclaimed series *Lost* that solidified his place in television history. Raised in Southern California, Garcia attended San Clemente High School, where he received the prestigious "Triton of the Year" award as a senior.
