Christopher Brian Bridges, better known by his stage name Ludacris, was born on September 11, 1977, in Champaign, Illinois. He relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of nine, where he discovered his passion for rap music. Initially, he dabbled in DJing before establishing his own record label, Disturbing tha Peace, in the late 1990s. His debut studio album, Incognegro, was released independently in 1999. The album's single, "What's Your Fantasy" featuring Shawnna, made waves by breaking into the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. This success led to a re-release of the album under Def Jam Recordings as his major label debut, Back for the First Time, in 2000, which reached number four on the Billboard 200 and produced another hit, "Southern Hospitality" featuring Pharrell.

Ludacris continued his winning streak with subsequent albums, including Word of Mouf (2001), Chicken-n-Beer (2003), and The Red Light District (2004), each achieving multi-platinum status from the RIAA. His later works, Release Therapy (2006) and Theater of the Mind (2008), tackled more serious themes. The 2010 album, Battle of the Sexes, marked a return to his signature fun style. Over the years, he has earned two number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist and several more as a featured performer. Not only a renowned musician, Ludacris has also made his mark in acting, notably as Tej Parker in the Fast & Furious franchise, and in films like Crash (2004) and New Year's Eve (2011). In 2021, he launched and starred in the Netflix animated series Karma's World. Additionally, he is a licensed private pilot.
