Ada Solomon

Ada Solomon is a prominent Romanian film producer and the visionary behind Hi Film Productions and Micro Film. With a remarkable career spanning several decades, she has been instrumental in bringing critically acclaimed films to prestigious international festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, Venice, and Sundance. Among her notable productions are *I DO NOT CARE IF WE GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS BARBARIANS* (2018, directed by Radu Jude), which won the Grand Prix Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival; *AFERIM!* (2015, also by Radu Jude), which earned the Silver Bear at Berlin; and *CHILD’S POSE* (2013, directed by Calin Peter Netzer), which was awarded the Golden Bear at Berlin.

Throughout her career, Solomon has collaborated with some of Romania's most promising filmmakers, including Cristian Nemescu, Ivana Mladenovic, and Adrian Sitaru, contributing to the growth of the Romanian film industry. She has co-produced projects across 15 European nations and her films have been distributed in over 50 countries worldwide. Additionally, she has provided production services for notable works such as Franco Zeffirelli’s *CALLAS FOREVER* and Maren Ade’s Oscar-nominated *TONI ERDMANN*.

A leader in the industry, Ada serves as the Executive President of the European Women’s Audiovisual Network, the Romanian National Coordinator of EAVE, and is a member of the European Film Academy's board. Her achievements have been recognized with several awards, including the European Co-production Award – Prix Eurimages in 2013 and the Central European Initiative Award at the Trieste Film Festival in 2018.
