Michael Kelland John Hutchence (22 January 1960 – 22 November 1997) was a prominent Australian musician and songwriter, best recognized as the co-founder and lead vocalist of the acclaimed rock band INXS. Formed in 1977, the band achieved remarkable success, selling over 50 million records globally, which positioned them among Australia’s most successful musical exports. Their influential contributions to the music industry were commemorated with an induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001.

In addition to his work with INXS, Hutchence explored other musical avenues as a member of the short-lived project Max Q and also pursued a solo career. His artistic talents extended beyond music; he appeared in films such as *Dogs in Space* (1986) and *Frankenstein Unbound* (1990), showcasing his versatility as a performer.

He had a daughter, Tiger Hutchence-Geldof, with British presenter Paula Yates.
