Conor McDermottroe

Conor McDermottroe has made significant contributions to the realms of theatre, film, and television since embarking on his career in 1979. His journey began as an Assistant Stage Manager with the Irish Theatre Company, quickly transitioning into acting with esteemed venues such as the Abbey Theatre and the Gate Theatre, as well as touring across the UK.

After spending a decade in Australia, Conor honed his skills primarily within film and television, where he not only acted but also co-wrote a feature film screenplay and directed two theatrical productions. In 1991, he returned to Ireland, joining the Druid Theatre Company and subsequently engaging with the Abbey Theatre and various other Dublin-based companies for three years. His work in the Irish film and television industry spanned from 1994 to 1997, showcasing his versatility and talent.

In 1998, he took his talents to the Royal National Theatre in London, further solidifying his reputation in the industry. The year 1999 marked a pivotal moment in Conor's career as he established Benrae Productions Ltd. Since then, he has focused on writing, directing, and producing an array of projects across film, television, and theatre, leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape.
