James Wan, born on February 26, 1977, is a prominent Australian filmmaker renowned for his significant contributions to the horror genre. He is best known as the co-creator of the iconic Saw and Insidious series, alongside his role as the mastermind behind The Conjuring Universe, which has become the highest-grossing horror franchise, amassing over $2 billion.

Wan's cinematic journey began with his directorial debut in 2004 with the first Saw film, which quickly gained traction and led to a successful franchise that generated over $1 billion globally. After facing some challenges in his career, he achieved renewed acclaim with Insidious, directing the original film in 2010 and its follow-up in 2013.
