Veronica Carlson, born on September 18, 1944, in Yorkshire, England, is a notable English actress and model renowned for her captivating performances in iconic Hammer horror films. Originally named Veronica Mary Glazer, she spent a significant part of her early life in Germany due to her father's military service. After returning to England, she attended Thetford Girls' School and later pursued art studies at High Wycombe College of Technology and Design, where she also took part in various amateur theatrical productions.

In her mid-twenties, Carlson began her acting career with minor roles in films and television. Her breakthrough came when James Carreras, the head of Hammer Films, discovered her photograph in a newspaper and offered her a prominent role alongside Christopher Lee in the 1968 film "Dracula Has Risen from the Grave." This marked the beginning of her ascent to fame, as she became well-recognized for her performances in other Hammer titles, including "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed" (1969) and "The Horror of Frankenstein" (1970). Additionally, she made guest appearances in popular television series such as "Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)" and "The Saint."
