Mimie Mathy, born on July 8, 1957, is a celebrated French actress, comedian, and singer, best known for her iconic portrayal of the titular character in the beloved television series "Josephine, Guardian Angel." Standing at 4 feet 4 inches (1.32 m) due to achondroplasia, Mathy has made significant strides in the entertainment industry, drawing attention for her talent and charm.
Her passion for performing arts began in her youth, leading her to study drama at Michel Fugain's workshop in Nice from 1979 to 1981. In the early 1980s, she showcased her versatility through various theater roles and gained further recognition on the television show "Le Petit Théâtre de Bouvard." Mathy also co-founded a comedy troupe called "Le Trio des Filles," which entertained audiences with their show "Existe en trois tailles" from 1988 to 1993.
In 1993, her performance in the TV movie "Une nounou pas comme les autres" captivated viewers, achieving a remarkable 52.7% market share in France. Since 1994, she has participated in the annual charity concert "Les Enfoirés," supporting the Restaurants du Cœur, which became a major television event in France.
Beginning in 1997, she endeared herself to audiences as Josephine in "Josephine, Guardian Angel," a role that cemented her status as a household name. Beyond acting, she released a music CD titled "La Vie M'a Raconte" in 2006.
