Duff MacDonald
Born in the scenic Saskatchewan province of Canada, Duff MacDonald is a versatile talent in the entertainment realm, known for his work as an actor, singer, writer, producer, and creator. Growing up in a large Scottish family, he initially set his sights on a musical career, earning a full scholarship to Dickinson State College in North Dakota to study opera. However, he soon found his true passion lay beyond the opera stage, leading him to make the adventurous move to Vancouver.
With over three decades of experience, Duff has left his mark on various stages and screens across Canada, the U.S., and internationally. His journey in film and television took off after two pivotal years with the Original Canadian Company of *Les Misérables* in Toronto in 1989. He honed his acting skills through independent studies with esteemed mentors at the Gastown Actor's Studio, including June Whittaker and Linda Darlow.
Audiences may recognize Duff from numerous commercials, such as those for Boston Pizza, Nutrfol, Molson's, and McDonald's, where he was known for his role as the Professional Sports Trophy Model. He also spent three years as "Ronny," the spokesperson for Ultramar Gasoline. With over 30 credits in film and television, Duff recently garnered attention for his leading role in the indie dramedy *OLD GUYS IN BED*, which premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival and the Cinema Diverse LGBTQIA+ Festival in 2025.
In addition to his on-screen work, Duff is also an accomplished singer-songwriter, releasing his debut album *Roots* in February 2011, followed by *Naked* in 2017. His music is available on major streaming platforms, demonstrating his ongoing evolution as an artist.
