Lenny McLean

Lenny McLean, born in London in 1949, was a multifaceted figure known for his tumultuous life and career. During his adolescence, he found himself entangled in petty crime, leading to an 18-month prison sentence. Following his release, McLean transitioned into the world of professional boxing and also became a well-known bouncer in various London clubs. His life took another drastic turn in 1992 when he was arrested after an incident involving a man he had removed from a club, who later succumbed to his injuries; McLean served an additional 18 months for this incident.

After his time behind bars, McLean turned to acting, where he gained recognition for his portrayal of bootlegger Eddie Davies in the British television series "The Knock." His talent also landed him roles in several films, allowing him to showcase his rugged persona on screen.

In a poignant twist of fate, shortly after the release of his autobiography, "The Guv'nor," which detailed his extraordinary life, McLean was diagnosed with cancer. Tragically, he passed away just four months later, in 1998. His legacy lives on, marked by his contributions to both boxing and acting, as well as his compelling life story that continues to resonate with many.
