Patric Doonan
Patric Doonan (18 April 1925 – 10 March 1958) was a British actor renowned for his contributions to both stage and film. Born in Derby, Derbyshire, he was the son of comedian George Doonan and had a brother, Tony Doonan, who also pursued a career in acting.
Throughout his career, Doonan appeared in several notable films including "The Blue Lamp," "Train of Events," and "The Cockleshell Heroes." While he did not typically land leading roles, his performances were memorable and contributed to the films' overall impact. In 1956, he took to the stage in the acclaimed production of "The Mousetrap" at the Ambassadors Theatre in London, showcasing his talent in a different medium.
Tragically, Patric Doonan's life came to an early end when he died by suicide in 1958. At the time of his death, he was engaged to actress Ann Firbank, creating a complex personal narrative as he was concurrently married to actress Aud Johansen.
Decades later, in 1994, Doonan's legacy was acknowledged by singer Morrissey, who referenced him in the song "Now My Heart Is Full," highlighting the lasting impact of his life and work on popular culture. Despite his brief career, Doonan's contributions to the arts remain noteworthy.
