Omar Mouallem

Omar Mouallem is a multifaceted author, journalist, and filmmaker celebrated for his unique ability to fuse compelling human interest narratives with broader themes of global history and social commentary, often infused with humor. His acclaimed short film, The Last Baron, received praise from enRoute magazine as “one of the best Canadian food documentaries.” This project was later developed into a feature-length film, The Lebanese Burger Mafia, which debuted at the prestigious Hot Docs festival in 2023. It garnered several accolades, including recognition from the Northwest International Documentary Festival, the Silk Road Film Festival, and Alberta's Rosie Awards.
