Virginia Newcomb is a talented actress and independent filmmaker celebrated for her standout role in A24's The Death of Dick Long (2019), directed by Daniel Scheinert of the Oscar-winning duo, The Daniels. Critically acclaimed, her portrayal of Lydia is described as “fiercely protective, vulnerable, and angry all at once,” allowing audiences to fully connect with her character's disbelief in the absurdity of her situation, according to Justin Chang of the LA Times.

Returning to her native Alabama, Virginia has contributed to various projects, including producing Lynn Shelton's Sword of Trust (2019) and directing several award-winning short films. Her filmography spans notable titles such as Peacock (2010) headlined by Cillian Murphy, Reparation (2015) featuring Marc Menchaca, and the acclaimed The Beta Test (2021), which premiered at Berlinale and Tribeca and was distributed by IFC.
