Svetlana Khodchenkova
Svetlana Khodchenkova, born on January 21, 1983, in Moscow, is a prominent Russian actress recognized for her captivating performances in both film and television. She grew up in Zheleznodorozhny, a small town just east of Moscow, raised by a single mother. Initially aspiring to become a doctor, Svetlana's career took a turn when she began modeling at the age of 15, which opened doors to international opportunities.
She briefly attended the Moscow Institute of World Economics in 2000 but left to pursue her passion for acting. From 2001 to 2005, she honed her craft at the Shchukin Theatrical School of the Vakhtangov Theatre under the mentorship of Nina Doroshina and Alekandr Lyubimtsev. During her studies, she gained recognition for her roles in films directed by Stanislav Govorukhin and Viktor Merezhko, as well as popular Russian television series.
Khodchenkova's standout performance in "Mala Moskwa" (2008) earned her the Best Actress award at the Gdynia Polish Film Festival. She further solidified her reputation with her role in "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" (2011), which garnered her the COFCA Award. In her personal life, she was married to fellow actor Vladimir Yaglych, though they later divorced.
Beyond acting, Svetlana is passionate about horseback riding and enjoys winter sports, particularly alpine skiing, often practicing at the renowned Courchevel ski resort in France.
