Vida Ghaffari
Vida Ghaffari is an accomplished actress who has earned multiple awards for her performances. Hailing from the Washington DC area, she was raised by a NASA scientist and an artist, which provided her with a rich blend of analytical and creative influences. Vida holds a degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP), a choice made to satisfy her traditional Persian father, while also pursuing a minor in theatre and communication to nurture her passion for the arts. During her time at UMCP, she actively engaged in improv shows at the school's black box theatre and took part in various plays.
After graduating, Vida honed her acting skills with several coaches and completed the renowned improv program at Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), co-founded by Amy Poehler. This led to her involvement in both feature films and television. Notably, she landed a co-starring role in Mindy Kaling's acclaimed series The Mindy Project and made appearances on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live and Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia.
Her recent work includes a standout performance in Harley Wallen's Abeyance, where she portrayed the cunning scientist Nikita. Vida is also a regular collaborator with award-winning director Dustin Ferguson, featuring in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Robowoman as medical researcher Hannah. Additionally, she has taken on various roles, including school security guard Joan in Nation’s Fire and the possessed Hayley in Holy Terror, earning recognition as the “Persian Linda Blair” for her gripping performance. Most recently, she appeared in Levin Garbisch’s Miranda Veil as Alice Veil, a mother with a complex character arc.
