Michele Selene Ang
Michele Selene Ang is a talented Chinese-Indonesian-American actress and filmmaker, born in Surabaya, Indonesia. She moved to the San Francisco Bay Area with her family and later became a naturalized citizen of the United States. Michele gained widespread recognition for her role as Courtney Crimsen in the critically acclaimed Netflix series "13 Reasons Why," which premiered in 2017.
Raised in Fairfield, California, Michele honed her craft at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, focusing on theater. Her dedication paid off when she earned a Silver Award in Theater from the National YoungArts Program in 2012, alongside being named a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts that same year. She furthered her education at Fordham University, graduating with a BA in Theatre Performance and participating in numerous student productions.
Michele's stage career includes performances at prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, East West Players, and Yale Repertory Theatre. She made her mark in independent film with her debut in "How I Learned to Fly," which enjoyed a theatrical release through Film Movement and is now available on Apple TV. As a filmmaker, she has produced several short films under her banner, February Face Productions, and is actively working on additional narrative shorts as well as her first feature film, showcasing her multifaceted talents in the industry.
