John Stockwell, born John Stockwell Samuels IV on March 25, 1961, in Galveston, Texas, is a multifaceted American actor, director, producer, writer, and former model. Hailing from a family with a legal background, he ventured into the entertainment industry with his film debut in the 1981 comedy "So Fine." Stockwell gained wider recognition for his portrayal of Spider in the 1983 comedy "Losin' It," followed by a notable role as Dennis Guilder in John Carpenter's iconic horror film "Christine." His versatility was further showcased in the 1985 film "My Science Project" and as Cougar in the 1986 blockbuster "Top Gun." Additionally, he made guest appearances on popular television series such as "The Young Riders" and "Friday the 13th: The Series."
