Barry Jenner (January 14, 1941 – August 9, 2016) was an accomplished American actor celebrated for his memorable roles on television. Most notably, he portrayed Captain Jerry Cooper on the iconic series Dallas and Admiral William Ross on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Additionally, he made an impact as Lt. Lieu Murtaugh on Family Matters. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jenner was raised as an only child in a working-class family, with a factory worker father and a part-time waitress mother. He pursued higher education in political science and American history at West Chester University before relocating to New York City to chase his acting dreams.

Jenner's early career included roles on soap operas like Somerset and Another World, which paved the way for a diverse portfolio that featured guest appearances on Knots Landing, as well as performances in films such as Looker, Popcorn, and Enough Said. His talents also extended to theater and commercials, showcasing his versatility as a performer. Beyond acting, Jenner dedicated 21 years to serving as a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.
