Brooke Trantor
Brooke Trantor hails from Quincy, Illinois, where her artistic journey began before she ventured to Los Angeles. Armed with a BFA in Acting from Illinois Wesleyan University and enriched by her studies at The British American Drama Academy in London, Brooke developed a profound appreciation for Shakespeare. However, her true passion emerged within the realms of improv and comedy, leading her to hone her craft at renowned institutions such as Second City, UCB, Groundlings, and iO West.
Brooke's recent screen credits showcase her versatility, featuring roles in NBC's "The Enemy Within," TNT's "Cocaine Cowboys Pilot," and a leading performance in the comedy film "Misfits." Notably, she had the privilege of acting alongside the legendary Shirley MacLaine in "The Last Word," a highlight of her career.
In 2014, Brooke embarked on her filmmaking journey, reveling in the collaborative nature of independent cinema. Her co-written project "Night Four," featuring Elizabeth Gwynne Wilson and directed by Chris Dougherty, gained international recognition, including a screening at the prestigious Outfest in Los Angeles. Another notable work, "Yours are Mine," which she directed, produced, and starred in, garnered multiple accolades, including Best Director and Best Actress at the Blackbird Film Festival in 2019. Her comedic series "Botanical Baes," co-created with Erin McDonnell, received media attention from The LA Times.
Her latest short film, "Oh, Baby!" co-written with Kate Morgan Chadwick, premiered at the Florida Film Festival and achieved several awards, including Best Comedy at the iNDIE Film Festival and the Audience Choice Award at the Blackbird Film Festival 2020. Currently, Brooke is developing a single-camera comedy titled "Wild Woman," a spinoff of "Oh, Baby!", alongside a comedy-horror feature and several short films in post-production.
