Patrick Kielty

Patrick Kielty hails from Downpatrick, County Down in Northern Ireland, having spent his formative years in the nearby village of Dundrum. He is one of three sons of businessman John "Jack" Kielty, whose tragic death on January 25, 1988, profoundly impacted Patrick's life. Jack was murdered by the Ulster Freedom Fighters (UFF), a pseudonym for the loyalist paramilitary group, the Ulster Defence Association (UDA). His father had been poised to serve as a crucial witness in a libel case involving Central Television, which was being sued by Jim Craig, a figure linked to organized crime.

In his youth, Kielty showcased his athletic prowess as a talented Gaelic football player. He represented the Down GAA minor football team from 1987 to 1989 and played a vital role as the substitute goalkeeper during their victorious campaign in the 1987 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship.

Kielty has since carved out a successful career in entertainment, becoming a prominent television presenter and comedian. He gained fame for his sharp wit and engaging style, appearing on various programs that resonate with audiences.
