Michelle Obama
Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama (born January 17, 1964) is an influential American attorney and author, recognized as the first African-American First Lady of the United States during her husband Barack Obama’s presidency. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, she displayed academic excellence, earning her degree from Princeton University followed by a law degree from Harvard Law School.
Michelle began her professional journey at the prestigious law firm Sidley Austin, where she met Barack. She later contributed her talents to the administration of Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and worked at the University of Chicago Medical Center. In the lead-up to Barack's presidential campaign in 2008, she played a vital role, delivering a memorable keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention that year, and again in 2012.
As First Lady, Michelle Obama embraced her platform to champion causes such as poverty alleviation, nutrition, and healthy living, launching initiatives like "Let's Move!" to combat childhood obesity.
