Dominique Laffin, born on June 3, 1952, in Saint-Mandé, Val-de-Marne, France, was a talented French actress whose career spanned just a decade, from 1975 to 1985. She made a significant impact in the film industry with her notable debut in 1977. Laffin earned widespread recognition for her compelling performance in Jacques Doillon's acclaimed film, *La Femme qui pleure* (1979), which garnered her a César Award nomination for Best Actress.

In addition to this milestone, she showcased her versatility by sharing the screen with emerging talents, including a young Roberto Benigni in *Chiedo asilo*. Laffin's filmography, though brief, included collaborations with prominent figures such as Gérard Depardieu, Juliette Binoche, Miou-Miou, and Yves Montand, cementing her place among France's cinematic elite.

Tragically, Laffin's life was cut short at the age of 33 due to a heart attack, though her daughter later suggested the possibility of suicide, a claim she could not confirm. Despite her untimely passing on June 12, 1985, her legacy endures. Laffin rests in the Cimetière de Montmartre in Paris, close to the esteemed director François Truffaut. She is survived by her daughter, Clémentine Autain, a prominent French politician born in 1973.
