Mary Nolan

Mary Nolan, originally named Mary Imogene Robertson, was an influential American actress, singer, and dancer known for her captivating performances on both stage and screen. Her entertainment career took off in the 1920s when she graced the stage as a Ziegfeld girl, initially performing under the moniker Imogene "Bubbles" Wilson. Between 1925 and 1927, she starred in seventeen German films, adopting the name Imogene Robertson during this period.

In 1927, upon her return to the United States, Nolan sought to distance herself from her tumultuous past and rebranded herself as Mary Nolan. This change marked the beginning of a new chapter in her career. In 1928, she signed with Universal Pictures, where she enjoyed notable success in the film industry. Nolan's performances captivated audiences, making her a recognizable figure in early Hollywood.

Tragically, her life came to a premature end due to an overdose of Seconal, which remains classified as either accidental or suicide. Despite her struggles, Mary Nolan's contributions to the arts during the vibrant era of the 1920s continue to be remembered, highlighting her talent and the complexities of her life in the entertainment world.
