Chris Bruno
Chris Bruno, born on March 15, 1966, in Milford, Connecticut, is a prominent American actor recognized for his portrayal of Sheriff Walt Bannerman in the USA Network's acclaimed series The Dead Zone. He comes from a family of performers, with his brother Dylan Bruno known for his role as Colby Granger on Numb3rs and their father, Scott Bruno, also in the acting profession.
Bruno's early interests spanned both athletics and the arts. While studying in Vermont, an injury ended his skiing ambitions and led him to pursue acting, landing a lead role in the play The Mandrake. He later transferred to the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he majored in theater and also excelled as a starting pitcher on the baseball team.
His television career took off with his role as Dennis Carrington Wheeler on NBC's Another World, earning him a nomination for the Soap Opera Award for Outstanding Newcomer. Following this, he played Michael Delaney on ABC's All My Children and dabbled in stand-up comedy, making guest appearances on popular sitcoms like The Nanny and Jesse.
Bruno’s significant breakthrough came in 2001 when he starred in The Dead Zone, which became the highest-rated cable series premiere at the time. He made his directorial debut during the show's fifth season with an episode dedicated to his late mother. Beyond television, he appeared alongside Anthony Hopkins in the 2005 film The World's Fastest Indian, calling it one of his most thrilling experiences. More recently, in 2009, he had roles in two episodes of Prison Break and its television movie finale, Prison Break: The Final Break.
