Camille Lou
Camille Houssière, widely recognized as Camille Lou, was born on May 22, 1992, in Bersillies, near Maubeuge, France. Growing up in a musical family, with her father performing as a guitarist and singer in the band Paradoxe, Camille and her two older sisters were immersed in music from an early age. She began her musical journey by playing the violin and, at just twelve years old, she won a local singing contest known as les Voix de Noël in Hautmont.
Camille’s professional career took flight in January 2010 when she adopted the stage name Jimmie and released her debut album, La Grande Aventure, showcasing her pop-folk style. Her collaboration with Coeur de Pirate on a track in March 2010 further solidified her presence in the music scene.
In a pivotal moment in her career, Camille caught the attention of musical producer Dove Attia after performing "Falling Slowly" during a chance encounter at a restaurant. This led to her auditioning for the musical 1789: Les Amants de la Bastille, where she portrayed the character Olympe. The production premiered in 2011 and was met with acclaim during its run at the Palais des Sports in Paris and subsequent national tour.
In 2014, Camille took on the role of Guenièvre in La Légende du roi Arthur, which debuted in 2015 and toured extensively. She has also contributed to various projects, including a duet with Garou on a Disney cover for the album We Love Disney and a collaboration on Forever Gentlemen Volume 2. Recently, she appeared in the film Marché noir, further expanding her artistic repertoire.
