6 titles Acting

Tim Novotny is a versatile American filmmaker, actor, writer, composer, and director hailing from Ellington, New York. His journey in the film industry began during his years at Kent State University, where he balanced part-time acting with a burgeoning career in music composition from 2008 to 2012. During this period, he crafted soundtracks for various local independent films, including Maurice Thomas' Urban Cannibal Massacre (also known as Meat The Jones).

After completing a writing scholarship at Kent State, Novotny was inspired to translate his narratives into visual storytelling. Self-taught in editing and cinematography, he initially ventured into creating music videos for regional artists, which paved the way for his foray into short films. His works, "Twisted Fate" and "Syndrome," garnered attention, but it was his short film "Sonny's Guest" that truly marked a turning point, earning him three awards at the Cleveland 48 Hour Horror Film Competition.

In 2016, Novotny debuted his first feature film, "Vile Prey," at the Nightmares Film Festival in Columbus, where it received a nomination for Best Ohio Feature. His talent was further recognized in 2018 when he won the Marshell Hawkins Award for Best Score in a Feature Film at the Idyllwild International Film Festival for "Dark Iris." Currently, he continues to make strides in the film industry as the CEO and producer of The Novotarian Syndicate.
