Bjorn Jorg Walter Steinbach, a talented actor from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, completed his education at Grey High School in 2002. He began studying psychology at the University of Cape Town in 2003 but soon shifted his focus to the performing arts. In 2006, he left UCT to pursue acting at City Varsity, enhancing his skills further with a summer program at the prestigious Esper Studio in New York in 2008.

Steinbach’s career took off when he appeared on the reality show Fear Factor: South Africa in 2005. His first acting credit came with the short film Small Killing (2008), which gained attention in South Africa. However, his significant breakthrough occurred in the United States with the HBO miniseries Generation Kill (2008). In this acclaimed series, he portrayed Cpl. Michael Stinetorf, featuring in all seven episodes that depicted the experiences of the 1st Recon Marine Battalion during the Iraq War.

Following this success, he starred in the made-for-TV movie Natalie Holloway (2009) on the USA Network, and also appeared in NBC's The Philanthropist (2009).
