Timothy Leonard Dalton Leggett, born on March 21, 1946, is a distinguished British actor renowned for his portrayal of the iconic secret agent James Bond, making him the fourth actor to take on this legendary role in the Eon Productions film series. Dalton starred in two Bond films: The Living Daylights in 1987 and Licence to Kill in 1989, earning acclaim for his more nuanced interpretation of the character.
Dalton's acting journey began on the stage before transitioning to film, where he made his debut as Philip II of France in the 1968 historical drama The Lion in Winter. His early film roles included appearances in notable period dramas such as Wuthering Heights (1970), Cromwell (1970), and Mary, Queen of Scots (1971).
