Karin Tammaru

Karin Tammaru, an accomplished Estonian actress known for her work in stage, television, and film, was born on January 27, 1971, in Paide, Järva County. She is the daughter of Leonhard-Heinrich and Linda Tammaru (née Dröner) and has one sibling. Karin's educational journey began at Tallinn 7th School, where she studied from 1976 until 1986. She later pursued music at Jakob Westholm Gymnasium, graduating in 1989. Following her secondary education, she attended Tallinn Pedagogical Institute (now Tallinn University) from 1990 to 1992, before advancing to the EMA Higher Drama School (now the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre) in Tallinn, where she completed her studies in 1996. Notable classmates included Taavi Eelmaa, Ain Prosa, René Reinumägi, Indrek Saar, Tarvo Sõmer, and Ardo Ran Varres.

Karin Tammaru shares a long-term partnership with fellow actor Indrek Taalmaa. Together, they are proud parents to two sons and currently reside in Tallinn, where they continue to contribute to the vibrant Estonian cultural scene.
