Sonia Dresdel

Sonia Dresdel (born Lois Obee on May 5, 1909 - January 18, 1976) was a distinguished English actress whose career flourished from the 1940s through the 1970s. Hailing from Hornsea in East Riding of Yorkshire, she received her education at Aberdeen High School for Girls, which laid the groundwork for her artistic pursuits.

Dresdel gained significant recognition for her leading performance in the 1947 film *While I Live*, where she portrayed Julia Trevelyan, a solitary spinster grappling with the haunting memories of her sister's death two and a half decades prior. This role showcased her remarkable talent and depth as an actress.

Perhaps her most memorable performance came in the 1948 adaptation of Graham Greene's *The Fallen Idol*, where she embodied the character of Mrs. Baines alongside acclaimed actors Ralph Richardson and Michèle Morgan.
