Dan Lin
Dan Lin (Chinese: 林暐; pinyin: Lín Wěi; born April 8, 1973) is a prominent Taiwanese-American producer in the film and television industry. He holds the position of chairman at Netflix Films and is the founder of Rideback, a production company established in 2008, which was previously known as Lin Pictures until a rebranding in 2018.
Lin is well-known for his work on several successful films, including Warner Bros.' adaptations of Sherlock Holmes and its sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. He also produced a series of popular animated films in the Lego franchise, such as The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Furthermore, Lin was involved in the production of the horror blockbuster It, which has set records as the highest-grossing film in its genre.
Additionally, Lin has worked on live-action adaptations of beloved animated classics, including Disney's Aladdin, which reimagined the 1992 animated hit, and the 2002 animated film Lilo and Stitch. His extensive contributions to the film industry have established him as a significant figure in contemporary cinema.
