Jordy Smith

Jordan Michael "Jordy" Smith, born on February 11, 1988, is a prominent South African surfer who has made significant waves in the competitive surfing scene as a member of the World Championship Tour (WCT). He first gained recognition in 2007 when he clinched the World Qualifying Series title, which paved the way for his entry into the elite WCT.

Smith's competitive prowess is highlighted by his impressive victories, including back-to-back wins at the prestigious Billabong J-Bay competitions in South Africa in 2010 and 2011. He further solidified his status as a top contender by securing victories at the Hurley Pro at Trestles in both 2014 and 2016, as well as triumphing at the Rio Pro in Brazil in 2013. These events are integral parts of the world championship tour, showcasing his skills on a global stage.

Raised in Durban, Smith began his surfing journey at just three years old and honed his talent while attending Glenwood High School.
