Troy Van Leeuwen, born on January 5, 1970, is an influential American guitarist and producer, renowned for his contributions to the rock music scene. He gained prominence as the lead guitarist for the critically acclaimed band Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA), a position he has held since 2002. Van Leeuwen's diverse musical journey includes significant stints with the alternative rock outfit Failure and the supergroup A Perfect Circle.

His versatility is further showcased through collaborations with various side projects involving QOTSA members, including the Desert Sessions, Mondo Generator, Eagles of Death Metal, and the Gutter Twins. In 2005, he embarked on his first side project, Enemy, followed by the formation of Sweethead in 2008. Van Leeuwen continued to expand his creative repertoire with the band Gone Is Gone, which he co-founded in 2016.

In addition to his studio work, he toured with the legendary Iggy Pop in support of the album "Post Pop Depression," which featured contributions from QOTSA's Josh Homme and Dean Fertita.
