Piers Corbyn
Piers Richard Corbyn, born on March 10, 1947, in Wiltshire, is a British meteorologist, political figure, and controversial activist known for his anti-vaccine stance and conspiracy theories. Raised in Shropshire, he excelled academically, earning a first-class Bachelor of Science in physics from Imperial College London in 1968, followed by a Master of Science in astrophysics from Queen Mary College, University of London, in 1981.
Corbyn's political career began with his membership in the Labour Party, where he served as a councillor for the London Borough of Southwark from 1986 until 1990. He is the elder sibling of Jeremy Corbyn, who later became the leader of the Labour Party. Piers distanced himself from Labour due to his dissent over the Iraq War.
In the 1990s, he founded WeatherAction, a company focused on weather predictions that garnered media attention. However, he became more widely recognized for disputing the scientific consensus on climate change.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Corbyn emerged as a vocal critic of public health measures, labeling the virus as a "hoax" and campaigning against lockdowns and vaccines, which he deemed harmful. His activism led to multiple arrests for his participation in protests against health regulations and for inciting violent actions against lawmakers. Corbyn's views and actions have positioned him as a divisive figure in contemporary British discourse.
