Stanton Friedman
Stanton T. Friedman, a distinguished nuclear physicist and lecturer, earned his BSc and MSc in physics from the University of Chicago in 1955 and 1956. Following his education, he spent 14 years working with prominent companies, including General Electric, General Motors, Westinghouse, and McDonnell Douglas, contributing to advanced and classified projects such as nuclear aircraft and various rocket systems, along with developing compact nuclear power plants for both space and terrestrial uses.
Friedman’s fascination with unidentified flying objects (UFOs) began in 1958, and by 1967, he had embarked on a prolific career as a speaker, sharing his insights at over 600 colleges and 100 professional organizations across 50 U.S. states, 10 provinces in Canada, and 18 other nations. He became well-known as the first civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident, co-authoring the definitive work, *Crash at Corona*. His book *TOP SECRET/MAJIC*, published in 1996, delved into the controversial Majestic 12 group and saw multiple printings, with an expanded edition released in 2005.
Friedman received a Lifetime UFO Achievement Award in 2002 from UFO Magazine in the UK. He co-authored *Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience* in 2007 and later published *Flying Saucers and Science* in 2008, which is now in its third printing. His extensive contributions to ufology included providing testimony for Congressional Hearings and speaking at numerous MUFON Symposia. A dual citizen of the USA and Canada, Friedman’s legacy remains influential in the study of UFO phenomena.
