Sabrina Harman
Sabrina D. Harman, born on January 5, 1978, is a former member of the United States Army whose military career became infamous due to her involvement in the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal during the Iraq War. Serving in the 372nd Military Police Company, Harman faced legal repercussions for her role in the mistreatment of Iraqi detainees at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison from 2003 to 2004.
Harman was charged with several offenses, including maltreatment of detainees, conspiracy to maltreat, and dereliction of duty. In a court-martial, she was found guilty of these charges, leading to a sentence of six months in prison, the loss of all pay and benefits, a demotion in rank, and a discharge under less than honorable conditions.
