In 2013, Rock & Ice magazine dubbed him a prodigy, highlighting his status as one of the foremost climbers of his era.

Throughout his career, Ondra has made a significant impact on the sport, not only through his impressive competition records but also through his pioneering ascents of difficult routes around the world. He made history in 2014 by becoming the first climber to complete a route graded 9c (5.15d) with his ascent of "Perfecto Mundo" in Mexico. In addition to this monumental achievement, Ondra has claimed multiple World Championship titles and has been a dominating force in the competition circuit, securing numerous victories in the Lead World Cup.

His portfolio of notable climbs includes iconic routes such as "Dawn Wall" in Yosemite and "Silence" in Flatanger Cave, Norway, the latter of which has been recognized as the hardest route in the world.
