Shivarajkumar, born Nagaraju Shiva Puttaswamy on July 12, 1962, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a prominent figure in Kannada cinema. As the son of the legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar and producer Parvathmma Rajkumar, he was immersed in the film industry from a young age. His educational journey took him through T Nagar for schooling and New College in Chennai, culminating in a degree from Madras University. Additionally, he trained in Kuchipudi dance under the esteemed Vempetti Chinni Sathyam.

Shivarajkumar's entry into acting was marked by a significant encounter with renowned director K. Balachander, which sparked his passion for the craft. He made his debut in 1986 with the film "Anand," directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, and quickly established himself as a versatile actor. Known for his exceptional dance skills, he earned the title Natyasaarvabhouma, or Emperor of Dance, becoming a pioneer in introducing Western dance moves to Kannada films.

Over his illustrious career, Shivarajkumar has starred in more than 130 films, earning accolades and the nickname Hattrick Hero for the silver jubilee success of his first three films: "Anand," "Rathasapthami," and "Mana Mechchida Hudugi." His remarkable filmography includes notable works like "OM," "Janumada Jodi," "AK 47," and "Jogi." Recently, he gained national recognition for his roles in "Jailer" alongside Rajinikanth and "Captain Miller" with Dhanush. Shivarajkumar has received four state awards and ten Filmfare awards for Best Actor in Kannada, solidifying his status as a cinematic icon.
