Nikolay Valuev
Nikolai Valuev is a prominent Russian figure known for his contributions to both sports and politics. He has been a member of the State Duma for the VI, VII, and VIII convocations, currently serving as the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure Development since October 13, 2021.
Valuev's boxing career is noteworthy, particularly in the heavyweight division where he achieved significant accolades. He was honored as a Master of Sports of Russia in 2020 and held the title of WBA world heavyweight champion from 2005 to 2007 and again in 2009. Additionally, he was named the interim WBA heavyweight champion between 2008 and 2009 and was recognized as the heavyweight champion by the Pan-Asian Boxing Association in 2000. He also claimed the title of Russian heavyweight champion among professionals in 1999.
Beyond his sports achievements, Valuev serves as the Vice-President of the Bandy Federation of Russia and has been the host of the beloved children's television program "Good Night, Kids!" since August 9, 2016.
