Dolly de Leon
Dolly Earnshaw de Leon, born on April 12, 1969, is a celebrated Filipino actress recognized for her impactful performances in independent cinema and theater. With a career spanning decades, De Leon has garnered several prestigious accolades, including a FAMAS Award, a Guldbagge Award, and a Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award. Notably, she was nominated for both a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award, making history as the first Filipino to receive a nomination in any category. In 2023, British Vogue honored her as one of the 31 most prominent stars globally.
De Leon honed her craft at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she studied theater. She began her acting journey in local productions such as *The Merchant of Venice* and *Waiting for Godot*. Her film career commenced with a role in Peque Gallaga's *Shake, Rattle & Roll III* (1991), followed by various small roles throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
