Terri Garber

Terri Garber is a prominent American actress celebrated for her captivating portrayal of Ashton Main, the charming Southern Belle, in the acclaimed miniseries *North and South*. This three-part saga, which includes *North & South: Book 1* (1985), *North & South: Book 2: Love & War* (1986), and *North & South: Book 3: Heaven & Hell* (1994), solidified her status in the entertainment industry.

Born in Miami, Florida, Garber was the youngest of three siblings in a family where her father practiced law and her mother ran a cooking school. At the tender age of 16, she began her acting journey at the Coconut Grove Playhouse, quickly gaining recognition after landing a commercial that earned her membership in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). This pivotal moment prompted her move to New York City, where she secured her breakout role in the 1982 series *Texas*.
