Gerardo Quiroz
Gerardo Quiroz Acosta, a prominent figure in Mexican entertainment, is celebrated for his multifaceted career as an actor, broadcaster, and theater producer. Born to Enrique Quiroz Acosta and Teresita Acosta de Quiroz, he shares a familial bond in the arts with his brother, actor Luis Mario Quiroz. Quiroz earned his degree in Communication and Public Relations from Universidad Latinoamericana in 1991, receiving honors for his thesis, “The Actor as a Social Communicator in Cinematography.”
His acting journey commenced in 1978, leading to appearances in over 120 television commercials for major brands and roles in 18 films, including notable titles like *Amigo*, directed by Oliver Stone, and *One Man's War*, featuring Anthony Hopkins. Quiroz is particularly recognized for portraying "Miguel" in the beloved television series *Papá soltero*, where he starred alongside César Costa, Edith Márquez, and his brother.
In 2003, he established the Centro de Capacitación Artística Pedregal (CECAAP), where he continues to educate aspiring performers in Musical Comedy. Over 1200 students have benefited from his guidance. He also served as the general director of the Teatro Pedregal from 2003 to 2007 and founded the Centro de Capacitación Artística Infantil (CECAI) in 2005, focusing on training children aged 6 to 14 in the arts. His tenure at the Polyforum Theater as general director began in 2004. With more than 65 productions to his name and over 40 accolades from both national and international critics, Quiroz has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Mexico.
