Christopher Benjamin was a celebrated British actor, born on December 27, 1934, in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England. He passed away on January 15, 2025, at the age of 90.

Benjamin gained prominence for his performances in notable cult television series in the UK. He portrayed the same character in two of Patrick McGoohan's acclaimed dramas, Danger Man and The Prisoner, which led to intriguing speculation about a potential connection between the two shows. Additionally, he appeared frequently in The Avengers and Doctor Who, featuring in three episodes of each, often in comedic roles.

His talents also extended to period dramas, where he took on significant roles such as Sir John Glutton, the main antagonist in the family adventure series Dick Turpin, and Channing in various episodes of the third series of When The Boat Comes In. Furthermore, he played Prosper Profound in the highly praised 1967 adaptation of The Forsyte Saga.

Benjamin revisited his character, Henry Gordon Jago, originally from the Doctor Who serial The Talons of Weng-Chiang, in four series of the Jago and Litefoot audio plays. This followed a successful episode titled The Mahogany Murderers in the Big Finish Productions' Doctor Who: The Companion Chronicles series, where he acted alongside Trevor Baxter, who portrayed Professor George Litefoot.

Primarily a theatre actor, he was affiliated with the Royal Shakespeare Company and had the opportunity to perform at Shakespeare's Globe from June 17 to October 5, 2008, where he took on the role of Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor.
