Soumyajit Majumdar

Soumyajit Majumdar is a multifaceted talent in the Indian film industry, known for his roles as an actor, writer, director, and producer. He is the visionary Founder-Director of LOK Arts Collective, established on January 3, 2010, and is celebrated for his significant contributions to the youth-in-arts movement in Kolkata. A graduate of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, where he specialized in Mass Communication and Videography, Soumyajit's inaugural feature film as a writer-director-producer is #Homecoming, which gained recognition during the scripting phase at the NFDC Producer's Lab Film Bazaar in Goa in 2019.

Before focusing on #Homecoming, he built a reputation as a prominent actor, featuring in 25 diverse films. His notable performances include key roles in critically acclaimed works such as Catsticks, directed by Ronny Sen, which earned an honorary mention at the Slamdance International Film Festival in 2019 and won accolades at various festivals including the Mammoth Film Festival and the Oldenburg Film Festival. He also starred in Ghost Of The Golden Groves, which received official selections at esteemed festivals including the London Indian Festival and the Chicago Underground Film Festival.

In addition to his festival circuit successes, Soumyajit has appeared in significant films like Aashiqui 2, Har Har Byomkesh, and Zulfiqar, and has contributed as a casting director and line producer on over 30 feature films and national advertisements.
