Kagney Linn Karter was a notable American adult film actress, model, and dancer. Born and raised in Saint Joseph, Missouri, and Ridgway, Pennsylvania, she was an accomplished high school student actively involved in track, cheerleading, and speech and debate. Before entering the adult entertainment industry, Karter worked as a hostess at a local Mexican restaurant and later at Office Max. She began her career as an erotic dancer in Missouri, where she earned the title of Missouri's Déjà Vu Showgirl of the Year in 2007, also securing a spot as the national second-place runner-up that same year.

Her journey took her to California, where she aimed to expand her career into acting and singing. However, after a falling out with her manager over her dancing career, she continued to perform while transitioning into modeling. Signing with the esteemed L.A. Direct Models, Karter worked with renowned adult photographer Holly Randall for various photo shoots.

Karter made her official entry into the adult film industry in September 2008. She revealed that her first name, Kagney, was inspired by actor James Cagney, and her middle name, Linn, was genuine. The surname Karter felt like a perfect fit for her. She gained notable recognition as the Penthouse Pet of the Month in June 2009 and graced the covers of Hustler and Adult Video News in the same year. Tragically, Karter passed away by suicide at the age of 36 in February 2024.
