Kim Estes

Kim Estes was born and grew up in Los Angeles, specifically in the Jefferson Park and Crenshaw district. He pursued higher education at California State University, Cal Maritime Academy in Vallejo, California, followed by postgraduate studies at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. Upon completing his education, he embarked on a career with the US Merchant Marine and the US Navy. Over the next 14 years, he navigated the seas, ultimately achieving the rank of Chief Engineer on various ocean-going vessels.

In addition to his maritime career, Estes took on a prominent role as the corporate head of the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability division for a major Fortune 500 company. His expertise in these areas led him to serve as a consultant and special investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board. Through his work, he has tackled environmental and safety disasters around the world, demonstrating a commitment to improving global conditions and advocating for safer practices. Estes's diverse career reflects both his technical proficiency and his dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and society at large.
